When your favorite author comes out with a new novel, you’re probably all in! Nothing is more exhilarating than getting a new edition in your hands, be it a paper novel or a digital download on your e-reader. When you’re considering a novel from a lesser known writer, short stories can help you decide if you like their style.

Short stories are also great for reading on a plane, before bedtime (if you aren’t worried about nightmares!), or during your lunch break. They help keep you distracted when you have a little too much time on your hands without committing to an entire novel.

I’ve just gotten started with my library of $.99 short stories with a couple of my old favorites. I think it gives you more options to choose those that pique your interest instead of adding them together into a collection.

Go ahead, get your daily fix of suspense or horror and let me know what you think!
